Attorneys

To accept funding from the MoDE Foundation Special Education Legal Advocacy Fund the following criteria must be met:

Agree to comply with all applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the regulations implementing the Act including regulations governing employment practices.

 

Have an active license to practice law in Missouri.

 

Be in good standing with the Missouri Bar and Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel.

 

Present proof of malpractice insurance of no less than $1,000,000 per claim and an aggregate of $2,000,000 liability claims.

 

Have a minimum of 32 hours in continuing education in the area of special education which is satisfied by completing the COPAA New Attorney Class 1.0 or submit written qualifications to MoDE Foundation board at legalfund@moempowerfoundation.com for consideration.

 

Preference given to members of Council of Parent Advocates and Attorneys.
